I read the "Current Status" entry linked in the release page. I understand the need to move to other things after many years spent on one project, but I'm confident that down the road you might find renewed interest in Gopher and come back to active development.
In any case, the emulator is already so rich in features and polished that, in my humble opinion, it deserved the "v1.0" tag by quite some time already!

So, thank you very much for providing this great tool to the 2600 community!

Seconded. It has been my great delight to watch this effort turn from "promising" to "outstanding". It's been a massive help to my programming, and I very much appreciate your responsive fixes and updates to help me out. I also think it's more than deserving of "v1.0" - in my view one of the shining achievements of the '2600 scene. Thanks!

Well, thank you to both of you. You've both been very supportive and encouraging and I will always appreciate that.

I'm not abandoning the project but I have other non-2600 related projects that I need to work on. I will fix specific bugs that people find (if they are straightforward), but I simply don't have the emotional energy currently to continue active development. I'm sure you understand.

You have done an amazing job on Gopher2600, and it very much deservers the tag 1.0. I understand very well the amount of focus and energy required to develop something like this, and finding the right point to move back a few steps before burning out on it is hard and takes courage as well. Hats off to what you have achieved, and I'm confident that you'll come back to Gopher eventually!

1.0 it is.
